Privacy Policy — Archer's Journal
Summary
Archer's Journal does not collect your data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs. Everything you record stays on your device and, if you have iCloud enabled, in your own private iCloud account. We — the developer — cannot see it.
What the app stores
The app stores only what you enter while logging your archery practice:
- Session details: start and end times, session type (training or competition), environment (indoor or outdoor), and venue names you type.
- Scores: arrow scores per end, including inner-10 (X) marks, and loose (unscored) arrow counts.
- Self-assessments: mood, effort, and remaining-energy selections.
- Notes: free-text notes on a session or on an individual end.
This data is written to the app's private database on your device. The app does not ask for, or have access to, your contacts, photos, camera, microphone, location, health data, or device identifiers.
Because notes are free text, please avoid typing anything you would not want stored in the app or included in an export file.
iCloud sync
If you are signed in to iCloud and have iCloud Drive enabled for Archer's Journal, your sessions
sync across your own Apple devices using Apple CloudKit (container
iCloud.com.quadiontech.Archer).
- Sync uses your private CloudKit database. It is tied to your Apple Account and is accessible only to you.
- The developer has no access to the contents of your private database and receives no copy of your data.
- Data in transit and at rest in iCloud is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy.
- The app uses Apple's silent push notification service purely as a signal that new data is available to sync. It is never used to send you marketing or promotional messages.
To stop syncing, turn off iCloud for Archer's Journal in Settings → [your name] → iCloud. Data already on the device remains on the device.
Export and import
You can export your journal to an .archerjournal file (JSON) and import such a file
back into the app.
- Export is always started by you. The file is written to the app's temporary storage and handed to the iOS share sheet, so you choose where it goes — Files, Mail, AirDrop, or another app.
- Once you share an export outside the app, that copy is governed by the privacy practices of whatever service or app you send it to, not by this policy.
- Import reads only the file you select. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
- The app's documents are visible in the Files app, so anyone with access to your unlocked device may be able to read them. Protect your device with a passcode.
No data sent to us or to third parties
The app makes no network requests to Quadion Technologies LLC or to any third party. It contains no analytics, crash-reporting, attribution, or advertising libraries. Consequently:
- We do not sell or share your personal information.
- We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
- We do not track you across apps or websites.
If you contact us by email for support, we will hold that correspondence only for as long as needed to answer you.
Retention and deletion
Your data stays until you delete it. You can delete individual sessions in the app, replace your whole journal on import, or delete the app to remove its local data. Deleting the app does not automatically clear data stored in iCloud — to remove that, delete the app's iCloud data in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage before or after uninstalling.
Your rights
Because your data never reaches our systems, you exercise your rights — access, correction, export, and deletion — directly in the app: view and edit any entry, export everything to a file, and delete what you no longer want. We hold nothing to disclose or erase on your behalf. This covers the access, rectification, portability, and erasure rights granted under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, and the CCPA/CPRA.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes.
